The lawyer says he is cooperating with the investigation
The chairman of Indian conglomerate Tata Sons has expressed his "displeasure" after he was accused of urinating on an elderly woman while drunk on a flight.
The incident took place on an Air India flight operated by Tata Sun in late November.
The news sparked widespread outrage in India and criticism of the company's handling of the incident.
The man was arrested on Saturday. He was fired from the American company "Wells Fargo".
And, "We will review and improve every process to prevent illegal incidents and deal with them when they occur."
The statement comes a day after Air India CEO Campbell Wilson expressed his "dismay" and "dismay" at what happened to customers due to "passenger misbehaviour".
The incident took place in business class on a flight from New York to New Delhi on November 26.
Suspect Shankar Mishra said he urinated on a 72-year-old female passenger while intoxicated.
"My clothes, shoes and wallet were completely soaked in urine," the woman wrote to the Tata Sun boss the next day.
He said he asked the crew to change his seat but was told there was no room and the crew was given a smaller seat. She says the crew apologized for bringing the man in front of her against her will.

Shukata Bhattacharjee, who was seated next to Shankar Mishra on the flight, supported the woman's claim.
The doctor told NDTV that he sent a written complaint to the airport on the day of the accident, but was "hopeless".
The airline has asked an internal committee to look into the complaint against Mishra.
Two weeks later, the agency slapped a 30-day travel ban on Mishra — one of the factors that fueled outrage after the news broke.
On the request of the girl's family, the company informed the police on December 28.
A week later, it submitted a report to India's aviation regulator, the Directorate of Civil Aviation.
Last week, officials issued notices to officials and flight crews for not following strict rules for handling passengers on board. He also said the crew's behavior was "unprofessional".
The airline later removed the pilot and four crew members from the crew list.
The airline's chief executive, Campbell Wilson, has promised a tougher reporting regime for Air India irregularities.
Wells Fargo released a statement on Friday saying it had terminated Shankar Mishra's contract and that "he is cooperating with law enforcement authorities."

Mishra was arrested on Saturday in Bengaluru and charged with various charges including sexual harassment and defamation.
Before his arrest, Mishra issued a statement through his lawyer in which he said he had washed his wife's purse and clothes two days after the incident.
"The lady's current complaint is only about the fair compensation provided by the airline and she has filed a follow-up complaint on December 20, 2022," her statement said.
He added: “The information recorded by the inquiry team by the former team indicates that there were no witnesses to the incident.
He stressed that the accused has full faith in the national judiciary and is cooperating with the investigation process.
